Text Box:         Drags Update: by John Kahler   The drags this year were both a success and a disappointment for me. Our club members were so great with helping to get this thing put together. I couldn't have been happier with all of you who participated in the planning and running of this event.   I want to thank a few key people who always go above and beyond with this event. Kathy Burger did a wonderful job of getting this event in front of the public and getting our printed articles designed. Gary Burger is credited with selling at least half of our sponsorship spots and spending countless hours with planning this event, besides rewiring our starting tree lights. Steve Klinkefus was awesome as "Mr. Microphone". Mark Kruse did a wonderful job of staging our racers. A big thank you to him for providing the equipment to set up and tear down this event. Bev Boyd did a spectacular job with getting the concessions taken care of. Paula Sult was such a gift to head up and plan the registration process and thanks to Dennis Sult also. I'm sure that there are people I'm leaving out, so I apologize now if I did. The final profit number I will report at our next meeting.   Where I am disappointed was not getting the number of racers that we need to make this event that I think it should be.
